How it Works

frequently asked questions

ANY and ALL criminal activity that occurs in Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and Union Counites have a cash reward of up to $5,000 for tip information that leads to an arrest.

You are GUARANTEED to remain anonymous as your identity is protected by Florida Statutes 16.555, 16.556, and 16.557. When you call the toll-free tips hotline, you will not be asked for identifying information, where you live, or how you acquired the information. Our call center uses state of the art technology to block call tracing and recording. If you utilize our online or mobile app platforms, your digital footprint is “washed”; IP addresses, data collection, and tracking are actively blocked using cloud based software to ensure you remain anonymous.

If you have information on ANY criminal activity, please utilize one of our four anonymous submission methods to securely begin the investigative process: Call 1-866-845-TIPS (8477), dial **TIPS (8477), visit www.fccrimestoppers.com, or download the P3 Tips mobile app.

You will be provided with a TIP ID number which is unique to the information provided. Our team will immediately coordinate with local law enforcement to investigate the tip information thoroughly. During the investigative process, you may check the status of your tip by contacting our office for updates.

Since our tipsters are anonymous, we have no way of contacting you regarding the status of your tip. To check the status of your tip you must call our office at (904)-398-3775 on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10:00am and 3:00pm. You may also message directly through our secure online tip platform at www.p3tips.com. Please ensure you have your tip ID easily accessible when you contact our office.

If you have information that will help solve a crime and you want to be eligible for a cash reward, you must contact First Coast Crime Stoppers first. If you submit a tip through any other law enforcement or third-party tip platform you will not be eligible for a cash reward through First Coast Crime Stoppers. If there is an IMMEDIATE threat to life or the community, contact emergency services FIRST, then First Coast Crime Stoppers.

If the information provided in your tip leads to an ARREST, you WILL be eligible for a cash reward. To ensure you stay up-to-date on whether an arrest has been made using your tip information, please contact our office periodically to check the status of your tip.

The reward amounts are determined by the First Coast Crime Stoppers’ Board of Directors at their monthly meeting. The Board reviews each reward recommendation based upon the severity of the crime and with input from the law enforcement agency that is investigating the case.

Yes, even picking up your cash reward is anonymous! After you contact our office to check the status of your tip, we will verify that an arrest has been made by local law enforcement and provide you with pickup instructions. Our tips coordinator will provide you with a REWARD PICKUP ID and instructions to head to a specific bank, on a specific day, at a specific time. Utilizing the drive-thru bank teller, you will send a piece of paper with the reward pickup ID via the canister tube. You will NOT be asked to present any form of ID, your name, social security number, or identifiable information. The bank teller will send an envelope of cash for your pre-approved reward amount through the canister tube with no questions asked. You then leave the bank with your cash reward. It’s that safe, easy, and ANONYMOUS!

The entire process, from the time of the arrest until the reward is ready to be picked up, can take up to 60 days.

The answer is quite simply yes. The program has enjoyed great success boasting an average conviction rate of 95% on cases solved by First Coast Crime Stoppers’ tips. The Crime Stoppers programs worldwide have solved over a half a million crimes and recovered over 3 billion dollars worth of stolen property and narcotics. Since the start of Crime Stoppers, many calls have been received resulting in thousands of arrests and recovery of substantial amounts of property. Calls have included information about murder, robbery, rape, assaults, drug and firearm offenses.

The success of a Crime Stoppers program cannot be purely judged on statistics, however, other benefits have come to notice:

  • A greater awareness in the community that there is a crime problem.
  • A willingness by the community to fight back against crime if it is given the opportunity and motivation.
  • Improved relationships between police, media, and the community.

First Coast Crime Stoppers is definitely here to stay. It has been accepted by police as a valid and effective investigative tool and the public, through its overwhelming response, appears to have accepted it as a more palatable alternative to traditional methods of giving information.

First Coast Crime Stoppers works by empowering community members to safely and anonymously report crime, transforming everyday citizens into partners in public safety. When someone has information about criminal activity, they can submit a tip through a secure online platform, mobile app, or dedicated tip line without ever revealing their identity. The system assigns a confidential tip number instead of collecting names, phone numbers, or identifying data, ensuring complete anonymity. Law enforcement agencies across Northeast Florida receive the information in real time, investigate the leads, and, when a tip results in an arrest or case clearance, the tipster becomes eligible for a cash reward. Payments are distributed anonymously using the assigned tip number, preserving confidentiality at every stage. By removing fear and providing incentives, First Coast Crime Stoppers strengthens trust between the public and law enforcement, increases case solvability, and helps prevent violence before it escalates—making communities and schools safer across the First Coast.
