72 year old man struck and killed by a hit-and-run

On Saturday, January 10th 2026, on Vernon Road between Edgewood Avenue and West 45th Street, a 72-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run. Officers say that the driver left the scene. Sadly the victim died to to his injuries.
