2-year-old shot and killed at westside apartment complex

Two-year-old A’mahri Robinson was shot and killed on the Westside of Jacksonville on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, after a domestic dispute at the Valencia Way Apartments in the 1200 block Labelle Street.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded just before midnight to a domestic dispute between two adults at the apartment complex. During the argument a gun went off and fatally struck the child. An individual involved with the dispute was seen fleeing the scene and remains at large. His name is Steven Dodson Jr. and is actively being searched for by law enforcement for the killing of A’mahri Robinson.

Steven Dodson Jr. is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for murder, attempted murder, child endangerment, tampering with evidence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
