Former NFL player is found dead after being missing for Several Days

Louis Anthony Nix III was a star football player. He had previously played for the Raines, Notre Dame and Houston Texans as a defensive lineman.

On December 8th, 2020 around 9:15 p.m. Louis Anthony Nix III was at a Gate gas station (60 Airport Center Drive) and was filling his tires with air. Two men came up to him, shined a flashlight in his face, they demanded something and attempted to rob him. Nix pushed one back and proceeded to get shot. A clerk working at the gas station heard a pop and saw them by the air pump, one pointing the gun. Nix was transported to the hospital and was able to recover. He live streamed on Instagram while in the ambulance then before surgery he tweeted he was shot in the chest.

Later, on February 23rd, 2020, Nix was reported missing after he was not heard from following a visit to his father’s home at 10a.m. On February 27th, 2020, the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office issued an alert for him. Police and divers were called to a pond at is apartment complex due to his car being found there. The police arrived and found Nix, he was found deceased. Louis’ mother reported that the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office said that foul play was not suspected.
