On Saturday, October 26th,  police were dispatched to Bruce Park, 6549 Arlington Road North, in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival they located Shawndell Robinson deceased inside the park.

Jax Beach Homicide of Robert McMahon
October 31, 2024

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department said a man was shot to death at the intersection of 4th Street North and 6th Avenue North early Saturday morning, October 26th. 

Family members said Robert McMahon, 37, was the victim. A loved one told First Coast News he was a surfer nicknamed "Punch" who attended Fletcher High School and Atlantic Beach Elementary School.

Jacksonville Beach Police Department said they are looking for two men who chased the victim near 4th Street North and 6th Avenue in dark clothing.

Grand Theft Suspect Sought $5,000 Reward
October 17, 2024

On Thursday, October 10th, the night of Hurricane Milton, an unidentified white male went to Northeast Florida Contracting Inc., located at 11501 Columbia Park Dr. W. and stole a flat trailer with a golf cart on it.  The suspect and vehicle were captured on surveillance video (attached below).

Army Veteran Byron Walker Killed on Maidstone Cove Road

On Thursday, May 23rd, at 9:45 pm, JSO Officers were dispatched to 10500 Maidstone Cove Rd. In reference to a man that was shot several times. The man died later at the hospital. Police identified the victim as 41 year old Byron Wesley Walker.

Armed Robbery / Attempted Murder at the Gate Station on Collins Road Station

Suspect Sought for Attempted Murder

 

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery, and we are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect. 

 

On Thursday, May 9, 2024, shortly before 3:00 a.m., JSO patrol officers responded to Gate Gas Station in the 5400 block of Collins Road where the pictured suspect shot an employee during an attempted robbery of the business. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

Please Help Bring Closure to Kevin "Man" Jackson, Jr's. Family

Kevin "Man" Jackson, Jr.,  was reported missing on Monday, April 10th 2023, by his family. They stated that Kevin was last seen on April 7th, as he left work  at 3701 Faye Rd..
 
Human remains were discovered near Interstate 95 and Broward Road on April 25th. The remains were later identified as Kevin Rondael Jackson, Jr. Jackson's vehicle was recovered on April 30th in the 2200 block of W.43rd St. it had been set on fire.

St Patrick’s Day Shooting in Jacksonville Beach
April 01, 2024

On Sunday, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, in Jacksonville Beach, police said the incidents started Sunday with a planned gathering of 250-400 people in their late teens and early 20s under the pier. Jacksonville Beach Police Chief Gene Paul Smith said officers broke up the crowd because they started fighting. The first shooting happened as the crowd separated.
 
A shooting was reported at 7:50 p.m. near a hotel on 1st Street, left three people injured, including the two men who fired at each other, police said. An innocent bystander from out of town was also wounded.

They said 21-year-old James Jones III was rushed to the hospital after he was shot around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a sports restaurant on Beach Boulevard at 1st Street North. He died at the hospital.
 

Police have not announced any arrests but said they are looking for three young potential shooters wearing dark clothing and armed with handguns and a rifle or AR-type pistol.

In one of the incidents Sunday, a man wearing a ski mask fired a shot as he ran past a bar on 3rd Avenue. No one was hit and police later found that gun, Jacksonville Beach Police said.

Investigators are also reviewing footage from the city’s CCTV system to piece together answers and locate potential shooters and people involved.

CASE SOLVED BY 2 FIRST COAST CRIME STOPPERS TIPS

 

December 29, at 11:40 p.m., patrol officers were called to an 10275 Old St Augustine Rd, at Coopers Hawk apartment complex. The Sheriff's Office said two groups of mostly juveniles had gotten into an altercation at a party when several shots were fired. It wasn't clear if the teen was the target or was involved in the dispute or whether there may have been more than one shooter.

When they arrived, they located a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Derek Pitts 

Officers performed CPR until members from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived.

The victim was then transported to a local hospital where tragically he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives with both the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit have responded to conduct the investigation.

JSO states that although it is very early in the investigation, they do know that there was a large group of juveniles in the area when an altercation occurred between two groups of individuals.

The suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect then fled on foot. Numerous witnesses were detained and have been transported to the Police Memorial Building to be interviewed.

14 Year old MicahThomas shot and killed on New Years Day
January 07, 2024

The new year in Jacksonville began with tragedy. A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed on New Years Day in the city's Northwest Side. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting around 6 p.m. on Castle Blvd. They found a 14-year-old boy who had been shot inside a home. Officers performed CPR before the victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. 

The victim was identified as Micah Thomas was. He shot and killed in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood on New Year’s Day, marking the first homicide of the year, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
