On May 27th 2014, officers responded to a shooting at Moose and New Berlin roads about 5:40 p.m. found Cecil Dale Scalf, 54, of Grover Road lying in the street with gunshot wounds.
Police said three men met at the intersection for business reasons. They began to argue and shots were fired. The other two men stayed at the scene, and police said it did not appear the argument was over anything illegal.

Julius Richardo Parrish, 47, was shot and killed and a youth was in life-threatening condition after a drive-by shooting on Saturday, June 30th 2012, at 11:30 pm at 5409 Bunche Drive.Witnesses told police the two victims were standing in a driveway when a vehicle drove by.

Christopher McDowell, 19, was killed while walking down the road early Saturday morning, January 11th, 2014. The driver who hit McDowell did not pull over after hitting him and has not been caught. McDowell was walking north on St. Johns Bluff Road at Lost Pine Drive around 3:30 a.m. Saturday when he was hit. His body was found on the side of the road by an officer on patrol with the Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office.
FHP said the vehicle is an SUV or pick-up that is gray metallic or silver metallic. The vehicle will have damage to the right front area and FHP needs the public help in identifying the vehicle and the driver.
George Gill is, McDowell`s uncle, told Channel 4 that his family wants answers. "He was a promising young man. He had a whole life ahead of him," Gillis said. "I don`t look at them as a bad person. They were careless. So they need to come forward. That`s all, they just need to come forward. Admit what they did."

On Saturday, December 12th, 2009, at about 8:40 pm, then 48 year old, Bobby Rowdel Chattic was shot and killed in an apartment in the 924 Childrens Way. Jacksonville police said that neighbors heard some commotion there prior to gunshots.

Murder Suspect’s Identity Sought
On Friday, August 30, 2013 at 5:09 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Hubbard Street reference a shooting. Police discovered victim, Donald Brown (white male, 42 years old), with a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
A witness described the suspect as a white male, in his 40s to early 50s, slim build, short blonde or brown hair, 6’1”, 180 pounds, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.

Police are continuing to investigate a double shooting early Saturday morning that took the life of a 27-year-old mother of two and injured a second woman. Orange Park police on Monday identified the woman shot and killed while sitting in her car at the Park Place Apartments on Loring Avenue as Jillian Berrios. The passenger in the car was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with a gunshot wound. Police say her name is not being released "due to concern for her well-being," but say she is now recovering at home.
Police say a man approached the two women, who were in their vehicle at 5:39 a.m., and began firing. After the shooting, the gunman entered a newer model red hatchback car and sped away, according to police.Berrios` fiance called her his backbone and rock who had a heart of gold. He has no idea who would kill her or why.The Orange Park Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are all involved in the investigation.

Police in Jacksonville are seeking information after a 25-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Northwest Jacksonville early Saturday morning, May 18th 2013.
Officers began investigating the death of Michael England about 4 a.m. at the intersection of Pitts and Slay roads. England was found lying in the roadway. Police said he was walking or standing in the road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, resulting in his death. The vehicle fled the scene.
