On Tuesday, April 5th, 2015, at 1350, JSO dispatch received a call of a person shot at the 9100 block of 2nd Ave. One victim died at the scene. The other victim was transported to UF Health and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victims were Christopher Carter Mikell, 17 and Malcolm Tyrod Belt, 18 years old. The victims appeared to have died from gunshot wounds. Police have no suspect information at this time. Police are asking for the community to come forward with any information. Police are investigating the incident for gang connections.

Ahmad Franklin, 53, was caught in the cross fire of a shooting near Linda Drive and Kennard Street on December 20th, 2013. Police say Franklin was waiting for a family member outside his Linda Drive home that Friday night when two men fired about 10 shots at each other.
Franklin was hit by three bullets. Mr. Franklin succumbed to his injuries several days later.

Murder
On Monday, January 18, 2016 at 12:30 a.m., three people were shot in the 500 block of Cassatt Avenue while travelling in a vehicle. One victim died as a result of the injuries sustained. Police are trying to identify who may own or drive a vehicle believed to be involved. The vehicle is described as a late 1990’s or early 2000 Toyota Camry. It has the following distinguishing markings. The rear vehicle bumper is pushed in on the top, top right front quarter panel by the passenger door has a dent, a round sticker is located on the passenger side rear door window.

Police say driver that caused fatal crash early Sunday morning left scene.
Traffic homicide detectives said a BMW was traveling west on Duval Station Road, just off North Main Street, about 2 a.m. on March 6th, when it was hit by a newer-model silver car, whose driver left the scene.
Two of the three victims were thrown from the car, and the third was pulled from the vehicle. All three died at the scene.
The Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office identified the victims Monday as John "Curtis" Carlisle Jr., 24, of Yulee, Jonathan "Kyle" Cassani, 23, of Yulee, and Allison Bushley, 21, of Fernandina Beach.
Further investigation has revealed a witness identified a newer Ford Fusion silver in color (possibly 2013-2016 model year) with possibly a white male driver. The vehicle had both the headlights and fog lights on as it passed. The witness advised it was 2:00 a.m. when the silver Ford Fusion was seen at the traffic signal at Duval Station Road and N. Main Street. The vehicle was seen westbound on Max Leggett Parkway and then turned right on to Airport Road. It was last seen westbound on Airport Road passing Duval Road continuing toward Jacksonville International Airport. The witness did not observe any obvious signs of damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle as it passed.

On February, 24th, at 2:25pm patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting at 800 Line Street. Upon their arrival, they located Deonte Allen who was shot next to a bicycle. The victim was transported to UF Health where he was pronounced dead. Detectives need our help! On 02/06/16 Homicide Detectives responded to 1033 Bert Rd. #105, Arlington Village Apartments, in reference to a person shot inside that apartment. The complainant, also the victim’s boyfriend, states that he left their apartment to go to a nearby convenient store. He states that when he returned he discovered his girlfriend, with whom he lives with, shot on the living room floor. The investigation is ongoing.
