John Patrick Wilson was charged with attempted murder and armed robbery in the 12th Street incident after victims and witnesses eventually came forward to give statements to police, saying that Wilson attempted to rob two men at gunpoint and fired at least two shots during the confrontation. Wilson, a violent career criminal and former resident of Fernandina Beach, was visiting Amelia Island from Tennessee for the Shrimp Festival weekend and was residing with his mother and stepfather, Johnell Richo, at their Gum Street home.

The 35-year-old, was driving a blue Cadillac Escalade on Haverford just after noon when he was shot, police said. On Saturday, May 7th, 2016, A truck driver was found shot and killed on the side of Interstate 10 after an apparent road rage incident with another truck driver. Police said the second driver remains on the loose.
The victim from the homicide was identified Sunday as 44-year-old George Guerrero, from New Jersey.
The Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office said the shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. on I-10 eastbound west of Chaffee Road after the shooter`s vehicle started tailgating the victim`s tractor-trailer, which had moved to left lane to avoid construction. When the victim moved back into the right lane, an orange semi pulled alongside and appeared to bump the victim’s rig. The victim then veered off I-10 and drove into the woods. Police said the driver was shot as the second semi passed him.
The victim was found dead in the cab of his semi off the the side of highway.
Police describe the shooter as a black man with a beard driving an early 2000s/mid 2000s dull orange Century or Columbia Freightliner cab pulling a 53-foot white trailer. The big rig may have damage to the passenger side

On Monday, May 2nd, At 7:46 pm, a Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office patrol officer was conducting a property check at the business located at 1005 Baldwin Tradeplex Circle. The business is Hard Rock Materials Company, a concrete company. While checking the property, the officer discovered a body located just off the roadway at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Homicide detectives were notified and after further inspection, it is obvious that foul play is suspected.
The deceased person was identified as Nikki Lynn Redden. Her death is being investigated as a homicide. Nikki leaves behind two children, a 3-year old and a 7-year old.

Police are trying to find the shooter who killed a Jacksonville teenager during a fight at an Ortega Farms house party early Saturday morning on Liska Drive.
Jonah Golden, 19, was shot and killed and an 18-year-old man was injured.
