William "Will" Chrisman Killed After Breaking Up a Fight

33-year-old William "Will" Chrisman was shot and killed early Wednesday, Sept. 27th,  in the parking lot of a Westside strip club, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.  He was a father and military veteran.

Loved ones said Chrisman worked as a security guard at Flash Dancers Gentlemen's Club on Blanding Boulevard at San Juan Avenue. Chrisman was trying to break up a huge fight that broke out about 1 a.m. inside the club after a man hit one of the dancers, according to friends.

Police said the altercation carried out into the parking lot, where a gunman and another man got into a vehicle then shot Chrisman as they were driving away. 

Chrisman was taken to a hospital, where he died. 

Homicide detectives interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance video from inside the club. Investigators said there were several persons of interest, but no suspects were identified.

Tuesday, Sept. 19

Heath was found shot multiple times on Indian Lakes Drive  on Jacksonville's Westside and later died at the hospital from his injuries. Police said the suspected shooter was a light-skinned black male with dreadlocks pulled back into a ponytail, wearing a black shirt and black gym shorts. No other information has been released.

Tyreak Wyche Murder

On Tuesday, September 19th, police identified a 19-year-old man killed in a shooting last week in the Biltmore area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. 

Tyreak Wyche, of Jacksonville, was the victim of the homicide, police said. Officers responded about 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 to the deadly shooting on Shenandoah Avenue near the intersection of Old Kings Road and Edgewood Avenue North.

Devin Gauldin Shot To Death at the Hilltop Apartments

Tuesday, Sept. 12

Devin Gauldin, 29 was shot multiple times and killed at the Hilltop Apartments at 1646 West 45th St. in Northwest Jacksonville, police said. A witness told police two masked men approached Gauldin as he got out of his car and started walking toward a courtyard. They shot him multiple times and ran off. Police had no further details about the shooters.

On Thursday, August 31st, Christopher Bing was killed and another man was injured in a shooting outside the Kings Ridge apartment complex on West 12th Street, not far from Kings Road, in Northwest Jacksonville. Both victims were taken to the hospital, where Bing died. Police had no description of a suspect.

Maurice Amos, Jr.

On Monday August 21st, Maurice Amos, Jr.  was shot five times in his head, arms and body on Fernandina Avenue and later died at UF Health. Witnesses said that Amos was inside the home when he received a telephone call and stepped outside, where he was approached by an unknown vehicle and briefly spoke to the occupant(s) before an unknown person inside the vehicle shot him multiple times. The vehicle then drove off. Officers did not have a description of the car or the shooter.

Marvin Hartley, 27

On Friday August 18th, Marvin Hartley was killed and another man was badly injured in a double shooting that stemmed from a dispute on King Street at Fleming Street -- just north of Interstate 10 in the Mixon Town area, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. Police said a Black Buick sedan was seen taking off north on King Street after the shooting. No other description of a possible suspect was given.

Ra'Kwon Backey, 19 Killed on Shelby Creek Road South

On Tuesday, August 1st,  Ra'Kwon Backey was shot and killed in the driveway of his Westside home on Shelby Creek Road South. Police had no information about a suspect. His family said he had no enemies  a lot of friends, and they don't know of any recent arguments he had with anyone.

On Tuesday, July 25th, Malcom Osborne was killed in a triple shooting near a Golfair Boulevard Raceway gas station in Northwest Jacksonville. One of the other men injured had critical injuries and the other was expected to be OK. Police did not know if the shooting was random or targeted and had no description of a shooter or shooters.
